Penguins live in very cold places. But they do not get too cold. Their bodies have thick feathers and fat. The feathers keep cold water away from their skin. The fat keeps heat inside their bodies.
Penguins also stand close together in big groups. This group is called a huddle. They take turns standing on the cold outer edge and in the warm center. They move slowly, so every penguin can get a warm place. This teamwork helps the whole group stay safe and warm.
